PLYMOUTH, Mich., Sept. 14, 2009 – In recognition of its outstanding performance in delivery, quality, lean practices and customer support, Simrit’s Germantown, Wis. facility was recently awarded United Technologies Corp.’s (UTC) Supplier Gold status. Part of the Simrit Division of Freudenberg-NOK, the Germantown facility manufactures and supplies diaphragms for UTC’s Milton Roy Company, which manufactures controlled volume (metering) pumps and related equipment to handle a wide variety of fluids.
“We are very pleased to be recognized by UTC for our dedication to providing superior products and services,” said Eric Weber, business unit manager, Simrit. “Our history of stable pricing, on-time delivery and impeccable quality were the drivers allowing us to achieve this milestone. At Simrit, we strive to offer exceptional customer service, as well as quality products that impeccably fit our customers’ needs.”
Milton Roy products are sold internationally and meet the needs of companies in the water and wastewater treatment, hydrocarbon processing, oil and gas, and power generation industries. Simrit-Germantown is the key supplier for diaphragms in both existing pump lines and development of the next generation pump line. These diaphragms are highly specialized by combining elastomer, fabric, insert (metal, plastic or both) and a modified-PTFE face into a single integrated part. The diaphragm pumps are used in a wide variety of applications which dictate the need for the PTFE face – Milton Roy pumps can handle nearly any fluid or chemical.
The UTC Supplier Gold award recognizes companies that offer superior performance. The four criteria that are used to evaluate suppliers for this award include: excellent customer service; on-time product delivery; best-in-class quality for the last 12 months; and use of lean practices throughout operations. Simrit’s Germantown facility is one of the first UTC seal suppliers to be awarded Supplier Gold status and is the second Simrit facility to receive this honor. Simrit’s Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada facility was also recognized as UTC Supplier Gold earlier this year.
The Simrit Division is based at Freudenberg-NOK’s headquarters in Plymouth, Mich., and is part of the Freudenberg and NOK Group, which has total annual sales of more than $12 billion. Simrit offers an extensive portfolio of sealing solutions for the aerospace, appliance, energy, heavy duty truck, industrial, marine, mobile machinery, recreational vehicle and semiconductor markets.

Simrit Expands Rubber Diaphragm Offering Through Acquisition |
Nov 071 |
PLYMOUTH, Mich., Nov. 01, 2007 – Simrit, a division of Freudenberg-NOK, announced the acquisition of the assets of Precision Industries Corporation of Germantown, Wis., a developer and manufacturer of specialized custom diaphragms. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Precision was established in 1986 as a manufacturer of high quality diaphragms, specializing in fabric-reinforced diaphragms for small engines, fuel systems, irrigation, gaseous fuels, pneumatic controls and medical regulators. In addition, Precision routinely develops custom diaphragms for use in markets requiring certifications such as UL, FDA, NSF, DoD, CSA and a variety of other regulated industries.
Precision’s product capabilities include custom diaphragms made of rubber, rubber-fabric combinations and specialty materials, as well as diaphragms and gaskets die-cut from coated fabrics. The company’s designs also encompass insert-molded diaphragms and over-molded diaphragms, but their distinction is in assembling specialized diaphragms. Using state-of-the-art equipment, including PLC controlled presses, 3-D modeling systems and robust manufacturing software, they optimize processes to bring customers diaphragm solutions which are both robust and cost-efficient.
This acquisition will allow Precision to expand their reach into a broader variety of general industry markets while leveraging the financial and R&D resources of a much larger company. In return, Simrit will add comprehensive diaphragm capabilities to their broad product offering.
